After Yang

In the near future, having an android in your home is nothing out of the ordinary. Tea merchant Jake and his wife Kyra have one too: Yang, a "techno sapiens" who serves a role as an older brother to their adopted daughter Mika. Then one day Yang suddenly stops functioning. Jake is determined to have Yang repaired, but this turns out to be far from easy. Looking for a solution, Jake discovers that Yang is a unique prototype and apparently had a close relationship with a girl named Ada, but above all he learns how to revive his bond with Kyra and Mika.

In the world presented in the second film by filmmaker and video essayist Kogonada, technology is omnipresent in the daily life of humans, who have become creatures barely able to function without machines.
