Commemoration through film and dialogue
On October 4, 1992, an El Al Boeing 747 crashed into the Groeneveen and Klein-Kruitberg apartment buildings in Amsterdam’s Bijlmermeer. The community was irrevocably changed. With the first edition of UNMASKED, we commemorate this tragedy through three films and a post-screening conversation.
"UNMASKED opens with the Bijlmer disaster, a tragedy that marked hundreds of lives and left a community in deep silence. This program exposes layers of denial, silence, and systemic blindness, offering space to makers, thinkers, and witnesses who refuse to forget."
