blur: To the End
Along with eternal rival Oasis, indie rock band Blur defined the face of the British rock scene in the 1990s. Beautiful and innovative music came out of the hands of the four band members: Damon Albarn (vocals), Graham Coxon (guitar), Alex James (bass) and Dave Rowntree (drums). After 2003's experimental Think Tank, the band broke up to reunite in 2009, but fans had to wait until 2015 for a new album: The Magic Whip, after which things remained quiet again for a very long time - until last year. With their acclaimed new album The Ballad of Darren, Blur is back in full force.
In this documentary, director Toby L. shows how it all worked out for Blur; how the four band members, who are friends after all, managed to inspire each other to create new music, how the recordings went and how their first gigs went. In the concert film blur: Live at Wembley Stadium, also by Toby L., you can see one such concert.
