Elena has passed away. And of course her dearest friend Adela attends the funeral, but strangely, she hardly feels any connection with the others saying goodbye. She feels the austere and bare gathering is very far removed from the joy Elena spread. Afterwards, Adela walks to her car, but not much later boards a mysterious bus that takes her to her aunt's beach house. There, Elena is waiting for her. As it turns out, she has travelled back in time ten years, because that is where she spent a wonderful weekend with the lively Elena and their mutual friend Luci, a weekend in which the three indulged in their great love without hesitation: reading detectives. But there was also cycling and lots of dancing that weekend.
Above all, this magical-realist story is a heartwarming tribute to unbreakable friendship and sisterhood. Poetically, it also shows that grief and joy are sometimes very close to each other.
