Brokeback Mountain

Wyoming, 1963: ranch hand Ennis Del Mar and rodeo cowboy Jack Twist are hired by sheep farmer Joe Aguirre to take his flock of sheep to Brokeback Mountain to graze there for the summer. The two quickly form a close bond that goes beyond friendship. After a night of drinking, they can no longer suppress their feelings and end up in each other's arms. Ennis insists that it was a one-time thing and when the summer is over, they go their separate ways. Both men marry and lead “normal” lives, but when they meet again four years later, their love is as strong as ever. What will happen next?

In 1997, American author Annie Proulx published the short story Brokeback Mountain about the complex love affair between two cowboys in the 1960s, which was adapted for film by Taiwanese director Ang Lee. This tragic and moving love story, carried by Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal, won a slew of film awards, including three Oscars.
