Sirat

Luis has arrived at an illegal rave somewhere in the desert in southern Morocco with his son Esteban and dog Pipa. However, they have not come to party, but are looking for Mar, Luis's daughter, who has not been heard from for months after attending a similar rave. The trail ends there, however. When the police arrive to break up the party, a group of ravers decide to continue partying further into the desert. Luis decides to follow the group in the hope of finding out something about Mar.

Sirāt is the Arabic word for the narrow and dangerous path that leads to paradise. But isn't it rather the path that leads to hell? Director Oliver Laxe exploits this ambiguity to the full in this original and award-winning drama full of thriller elements. Alongside Sergi López as Luis, the desert and the rousing soundtrack full of electro beats also play leading roles.
