Peak Everything
Canadian director Anne Émond proves that a film in which the climate crisis plays an important role does not necessarily have to be gloomy and hopeless with this light-hearted, romantic mix of drama and comedy, for which she wrote the screenplay herself. Of course, she took the subject seriously: the production of Peak Everything met the strictest sustainability standards and won the very first DGC Green Award from the Director's Guild of Canada.
It is getting warmer and warmer in Canada, and kind-hearted forty-something Adam (Patrick Hivon), owner of a dog kennel, is really very concerned about this. His father thinks it's nonsense, his psychologist considers him hopeless. To combat his depression, he orders a therapeutic sun lamp. When it breaks, he calls the supplier. He gets Tina (Piper Perabo) on the line, a woman with a comforting, soft voice who makes all his worries disappear. This call will change his life forever.
