Whispers in the Woods
Years ago, nature photographer and filmmaker Vincent Munier traveled to the highlands of Tibet to capture images of the snow leopard, an animal that rarely shows itself. This resulted in the award-winning nature film The Velvet Queen (2021). For his new film, he has once again ventured into nature, this time in his native Vosges region. In the forests there, where the mist seems to hang permanently between the trees, he observed lynxes, deer, owls, and other shy animals with endless patience and an eye for the unparalleled beauty of the area.
And he did not do it alone, as his father Michel and son Simon accompanied him. As a result, Whispers in the Woods has become not only a fairytale-like nature film, but also a personal expression of love for his family. The three generations are connected by their attention to and wonder at nature and all living things, as every encounter with every animal is meaningful.
