Backrooms
Fluorescent-lit hallways where the light hums endlessly, walls that seem to go on forever, and a silence that weighs heavier and heavier on you: Backrooms plunges you into a nightmare where reality slowly slips away and every step seems to lead deeper into the unknown. Filmmaker Kane Parsons is known online as Kane Pixels, with his viral YouTube series based on the creepypasta of the same name. With this film, he translates this internet phenomenon into a claustrophobic horror.
When furniture salesman Clark ends up in the so-called Backrooms through a hidden portal, he finds himself trapped in a maze of shifting office spaces. While his therapist searches desperately for him, his sense of time and reality begins to fade. Something seems to be following him, but remains just out of sight. This psychological horror film pulls you irresistibly in, only to make you fear you’ll never get out again.
