Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair
Quentin Tarantino had already built up a massive reputation with films like Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, and Jackie Brown when he came with Kill Bill, a four-hour-long story about revenge, honor, and a mother’s love. But the producer thought that was too long and decided to split the film in two, so in 2003 Kill Bill: Vol. 1 was released first, followed a year later by Kill Bill: Vol. 2. But Tarantino still saw the film as a single entity; following a preliminary version from 2006, the definitive version has now been released: Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair. And this version is more than just the sum of Vol. 1 and 2: some scenes have been cut, and others have been added.
On her wedding day of all days, an assassination attempt is made on the former hitwoman Beatrix Kiddo, known as The Bride. But she survives and seeks revenge on the man responsible for the attack: her former lover and boss, Bill. But first, she must deal with the other assassins in Bill’s entourage, including Uma Thurman and David Carradine.
