The Good Sister

In the middle of the night, Rose knocks on the door of her brother Sam’s small Berlin flat after being kicked out of her girlfriend’s house for the umpteenth time. Rose and her brother are very close, so of course she’s welcome. She sleeps poorly that night; it’s not just the stress, but also a dripping tap that keeps her awake. And then there are the noises coming from Sam’s bedroom. Sam is then accused of raping a woman, an incident said to have taken place that very night. The police want to know from Rose what she saw and heard. Her statement could either refute or confirm the charges. What will Rose do?

Family ties, however close, can sometimes place a person in the midst of complex moral dilemmas, as director Sarah Miro Fischer shows in this feature film debut.
