Things do tend to go wrong with the inventions of the brilliant, highly eccentric Reodor Felgen. In the village, they’d rather see him leave than arrive, and the same goes for his two helpers, the cheeky magpie Solan and the timid hedgehog Ludwig. To prove they really are capable of something, the three decide to take part in the legendary car rally from Paris to the pyramids.

They do so in their self-built car: Il Tempo Gigante, which is equipped with a special button that lets you make the car go even faster. In the long race, which takes them across the dangerous Italian Alps and through the scorching Egyptian desert, a cynical tech billionaire from California is their biggest rival.

This exciting, adventurous and fast-paced animated film is based on the popular children’s books by the Norwegian author Kjell Aukrust.
