In a month's time the time has finally come: the 12th edition of World Cinema Amsterdam. For eight days, you can see the most beautiful recent films from Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean at various locations throughout Amsterdam. Curious about which films await you? Competition
From Japan (My Small Land) to Bolivia (Utama) and from Morocco (Casablanca Beats) to Kazakhstan (Baqyt), the competition program consists of eight gripping films from around the world. They compete with each other for the World Cinema Jury Award.

Like every year, this year too, there is special attention for a specific area. This edition, Chilean cinema will be celebrated with the focus program Cine Chile. The program consists of nine recent full-length films, thirteen touching shorts and one classic.

WCA Presents
The WCA Presents program focuses on films by Dutch and Belgian filmmakers with roots in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. This year, the WCA Presents program focuses on two up-and-coming Dutch film talents: Evani Gilds and Cyriel Guds.

GO CUBA!
For several years now, WCA has been supporting independently produced film projects by a new generation of Cubans. This year there are a total of two programs consisting of a feature film (Bongó Itá) and a compilation of various beautiful short films.

World Cinema Specials
The World Cinema Specials consist of four films that received acclaim at the major European film festivals, and which will be released in Dutch film theaters later this year. They will experience their pre premieres during WCA.
