My Sunshine

Young Takuya, a somewhat quiet, stuttering boy, plays baseball in summer and ice hockey in winter. He is not good, but he does not care, he just does whatever all his friends do. During an ice hockey training, he sees figure skater Sakura; her elegance on the ice makes a deep impression on him. From then on, he tries to imitate those beautiful moves on the ice, which is spotted by Sakura's coach and former figure skating champion Arakawa. He sees potential and decides to take Takuya under his wing. The boy makes rapid progress, whereupon Arakawa suggests that he and Sakura should form a skating couple. Takuya begins to fall increasingly in love with his skating partner, but she only has eyes for her coach.

This fine coming-of-age story, Hiroshi Okuyama's second film, tells the universal story of the pain and insecurities that often accompanies a first crush, a story he wrote himself. Starring Keitatsu Koshiyama, Kiara Takanashi and Sosuke Ikematsu.
