Baby
When 18-year-old Wellington from São Paulo is released after two years of juvenile detention, he discovers he has nowhere to fall back on. His parents have moved away, without leaving their new address behind. And so he goes in search of his friends with whom he used to hang out in the park. They are still there and with those guys he goes to a gay porn theatre, where he meets the handsome forty-something Ronaldo. When the latter notices at the end of the evening that Wellington has no place to go, he takes him home. It is the beginning of a turbulent relationship, in which Ronaldo comes to play the roles of business partner, mentor and possessive lover in Wellington's life.
As raw as the lives of all his characters are, director Marcelo Caetano has nevertheless essentially painted a tender portrait of a complex love affair. Worth noting: the scenes on the street were filmed with a hidden camera; the people we see are entirely themselves.
