Due to staff shortages, the highly skilled neurologist Alexandra has to work a double shift at Herlev Hospital in Copenhagen. One of her patients that day is 18-year-old Oliver, who has come with his mother Camilla because he is suffering from severe headaches. Doctor in training Emilie recommends a brain scan, but Alexandra overlooks this advice. She thinks it is a migraine and sends Oliver home. Shortly afterwards, the boy falls into a coma after a severe stroke. The consequences of this medical error are enormous, not only for Oliver, but also for Alexandra.
Healthcare costs are skyrocketing everywhere, leading to significant cutbacks. This puts enormous pressure on medical staff; with fewer and fewer people, more and more has to be done, leading to mistakes that affect both patients and staff. In this particularly suspenseful hospital drama, debut director Zinnini Elkington shows the impact this has on everyone involved. Starring Özlem Saglanmak and Trine Dyrholm.
