A Chiara
Family and friends of Claudio and Carmela have come together to celebrate the eighteenth birthday of their eldest daughter Giulia. It is a joyous party, everyone is in a good mood, while on the dance floor there is a healthy rivalry between Giulia and her three-year younger sister Chiara. Later that night, a car explodes in the street; it is her father's car. The next day, Claudio has disappeared, but Carmela pretends nothing has happened. Chiara, however, is determined to find out what happened. The discovery that Claudio has connections with the mafia forces her to make a choice in what kind of life she wants.
With this exciting family drama, written by himself, director Jonas Carpignano gives an original view of the Mafia genre through the eyes of a fifteen-year-old girl. His choice to work with non-professional actors works surprisingly well. Awarded at Cannes, among more.
